Cleaner Energy. Reliable Power.

Veridian provides natural gas and power solutions to South African businesses and industries navigating an energy landscape defined by grid unreliability and the urgent need for cleaner alternatives.

Africa faces a well-documented electricity supply crisis, with load-shedding disrupting businesses, communities, and economic activity at every level. At the same time, the global transition to cleaner energy is accelerating and South African businesses need partners who can navigate both realities.

Veridian's Gas & Power business provides industrial, commercial, and institutional customers with access to natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and power solutions  reducing their dependence on an unreliable national grid while lowering their carbon footprint compared to coal and diesel alternatives.

Our Gas & Power Offering

Natural Gas Supply : We supply natural gas to industrial customers connected to South Africa's pipeline network, offering competitive pricing and supply security through our supplier relationships.

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Import & Distribution : As South Africa moves toward LNG as a critical transition fuel, Veridian is developing LNG import, regasification, and distribution infrastructure to serve customers who need cleaner-burning gas but are not connected to the pipeline grid. LNG offers industrial customers a practical path to reducing diesel and coal consumption.

Embedded Generation Solutions : We work with customers to design, procure, and manage embedded power generation projects — including gas-to-power solutions — that reduce reliance on Eskom and provide more reliable, cost-predictable electricity for their operations.

Gas-to-Power for Mines & Industry : Mining houses, smelters, paper mills, chemical plants, and other heavy industrial users can significantly reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions by switching from coal or diesel to gas. Veridian facilitates this transition end-to-end.

Power Trading : As South Africa's electricity market evolves toward greater competition and private participation, Veridian is positioning to participate in power trading and wheeling to serve customers seeking market-based electricity procurement.

Why Gas Makes Sense for South Africa

  • Lower COâ‚‚ emissions than coal and diesel
  • Reliable and dispatchable (unlike intermittent renewables alone)
  • Competitive cost structure versus diesel generation at scale
  • A practical bridge fuel on the path to a fully renewable energy system
  • Supports compliance with South Africa's Carbon Tax Act
